TEENS
Yes, we definitely have them. Our program for them is different in that, rather than being a separate group, they are integrated into the service of the church. Flexibility, capability, and a desire to be a Christian servant are the criteria for each teen in our midst.
Our teens serve as ushers, Altar Guild members, attend mid-week Bible studies, assist with Sunday School and VBS and in any other way they are asked to help out. There are opportunities to use their time and talent in whatever way God has gifted them.
Christian education is formally presented in their "Sunday Teens" group. It meets at 9:30--in between our two worship services. The current series of study is called the "Real Deal." Each lesson deals with real issues in the lives of young people, such as risk-taking, justice, politics and forgiveness. Activities may include small group interactions, role playing, creative writing, art projects, all this along with Bible study AND Dunkin Donut Munchkins. The power of the Gospel is at the core of each and every lesson. We see God's word as the real source of information in our everyday lives. The leaders and instructors are Tim and Carol Combs.
